GRILLS X FUTURE ECHOES

Future Echoes is an audio project by sound designer Eden Alero, commissioned by MIRRORBALL and funded by Arts Council England and Camden Giving.

It is a partner project to MIRRORBALL and Camden People’s Theatre production of GRILLS (Find out more HERE), which explored the historic Camden Lesbian Centre and Black Lesbian Group (CLCBLG) via its archives, held at The Glasgow Women’s Library.

Future Echoes responds to the lack of specific Black Lesbian archive material that was uncovered in the CLCBLG archive during the making of the production. Through interviews and contributions from Global Majority, Queer, Camden and London locals, Future Echoes aims to increase the representation of QTIPOC social histories in Camden/London’s archives.

Eden Alero is an experimental sound artist and composer exploring the radical possibilities of sound as a tool for memory, healing, and future-building. Their work weaves together sonic storytelling, textured frequencies, and ancestral echoes to imagine new sonic worlds. Through immersive compositions and soundscapes, Eden creates portals into speculative futures shaped by the worlds in, around and beyond them.
